| Being from New Jersey, I ended up taking basic training at Fort Carson, Colorado. (I live 40 minutes from Fort Dix)
I took 2nd Eight at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. When we were finished with 2nd Eight, we were flown from Missouri to McGuire and left the states on the 19th of December, arriving at Nellington Germany the 23rd, with the 94th Engineers.
I went to Chinon, France with the 94th Engineers in April and arrived back in Nellington, Germany in June. I was then transferred to the 79th Engineers, with some 20 to 40 others [pure guess] to go to Lebanon.
The 79th Engineers arrived back in Pirmasens sometime in October 1958, then we went to Toul, France in April of 1959, and back to Pirmasens in June or July.
The 79th Engineers went to Agadir, Morocco in late March or first part of April for about 2 weeks.
I returned to the United States in late April 1960.
I see where your father was there about the same time as I. Say Hi for me.
I was in the 1st platoon of A Company, while in the 79th Engineers. I hung around mostly at the Atlantic Bar Down Town, ask your father if he ever hit there.
